OSEC
is the U.S. Filter trademark for On Site Electrolytic Chlorination.
This is a system for producing sodium hypochlorite on site
and on demand through the electrolysis of a brine solution.
It is availalbe in standard unit capacities from 6 to 2000lbs.
of equivalent chlorine per day. The system capacity can be
increased by the use of additional modular electrolyzers.

CAPACITY
GPH(LPH):
6 to 2000 lb. per/day
CAPACITY GPH(LPH):
A softener will be provided unless the water is less than 17
mg/l calcium carbonate hardness. The operating temperature of
the feedwater should be between 500 and 800 F. Temperature outside
this range may require additional conditioning. Low water temperatures
will affect the anode surfaces and below 500 F, shorten their
life. For this reason, heat exchangers may be fitted where cold
water conditions are likely to exist. Water consumption is approximately
15 gallons per lb. of available chlorine.
SALT REQUIRMENTS:
It is recommended that the salt be 99.8% pure, vacuum-dried.
A food grade salt is recommended when treating drinking water
supplies. Salt requirments for each pound of equivalent chlorine
produced will vary between 3.0 and 3.9 lbs. depending on feedwater
dilution, salt quality, and temperature.
VOLTAGE:
Control Panel : 120VAC, 60Hz, single phase
Transformer/Rectifier : 440VAC, 60Hz, 3
phase
Typical Power Use
at Electrolyzer: 2.5 kW-hr
per lb of available CL2
AMBIENT TEMP REQUIRMENTS:
40O F (5O C) 104O F (40O C) |
